Brands are the stories people tell about your business.Without stories, we would not be able to comprehend the value of something. Stories create experiences that one would not have had otherwise. The story your customers tell their friends about your business is first initiated by the brand they encounter.Read More
When I first opened my product shop I had no idea what I was doing. I had no idea how to get started with shipping, where to buy shipping materials, how to set up my shop, how to write the listings, etc. etc. I felt lost in a sea of kick booty Etsy shop owners destined to drown. That’s why I didn’t touch my Etsy shop for about a year after I created it.Read More
I remember when hashtags weren’t even a thing. I mean, what does a pound sign have to do with social media? It was pretty confusing at first. At least for me it was. Am I the only one?Read More
As time goes on and things change (who am I? I sound like a 90-year-old Nana), we--as business owners--have to learn to adapt and change. Instagram used to be SO easy to use to find ideal clients and customers. There was some strategy needed to grow a successful account, but it was a lot easier to be "successful" on Instagram than it is today.Read More
Three years ago I was just starting my business up. I had recently quit my job and the reason for doing this was because I wanted to start a business. I could tell by the look in my employers eyes that it was a risky (yet, bold!) move. I’m sure they thought I was naive. Well, I was. But, I also had a great deal of determination and wanted to see big things happen!Read More
This past year, I really focused on regular blogging. It was one of my goals and for the most part, I consistently blogged twice a week. For me, that’s a huge undertaking! My blog posts aren’t about weekend recaps or what leggings I like to wear (come to think of it--maybe I SHOULD switch to a mom blog...jkjk), so the content can often take more time for me. That’s not to say the aforementioned content isn’t hard; I know it would personally be easier for me to blog daily about my life versus business education. Ya feel me?Read More

I love chatting with other product shop owners about marketing strategies and how to grow an online shop. In the beginning of my business, I was able to tap into some strong marketing strategies that helped grow my Instagram audience and online presence. Which in turn, grew the success of my shop.Read More
Being a new mom is so hard. You’re exhausted from being pregnant AND labor, you have crazy hormones rushing through your body, you aren’t sleeping a lot, you have a new baby who you adore and had no idea you could feel the emotions you’re feeling, and you are worried about every tiny thing.Read More
I am a big fan of efficiency. I think through every decision when it comes to finding the most efficient route or way of doing something. Sometimes when we are driving somewhere and my husband takes a different route than expected, I get frustrated. I have already thought through the different scenarios and have found the most efficient way of driving, so it doesn’t make sense to go a different way! The good thing about marriage is that it makes you a better person and helps you let go of your controlling ways, amiright?!Read More
I love setting goals. I am a task-oriented person, so my sense of accomplishment often comes from checking things off a to-do list and being productive. This is great for being motivated, but it’s not so great when you have a newborn and all you wanna do is get things done when what you really should be doing is snuggling that babe. I’ve learned a lot in the last couple of months about letting go of being productive for the sake of feeling accomplished. Sometimes the most productive thing I can do is love on my sweet little one. Hold up, that was a major bunny trail.Read More
I am a dreamer and a perfectionist. Which often means I don’t do the best job at looking back on the past and seeing all the positives. That skill does not come naturally to me. I often dwell on what I could have done better and what went wrong.Read More
The end of the year can be a time where we, as business owners, take time to look back on the previous year and see all the things we wish we did better. We can also look to the New Year with great hope and anticipation for what can happen next. We are eager to make big changes and quick to focus on all that we did wrong in the past year.Read More

If you're running a business, you pretty much always have too much to do. Your to-do list is never-ending. And now that I have a little person to take care of, I have very limited time to work on my business.Read More

I’ve been running my own business since February 1st, 2015. Well—that’s the day I got my business license and tried to start figuring out what it meant to start and run a business. And boy, I was naive. Fortunately, I have been able to push through the hardships and allow myself grace through the process. But, it certainly hasn’t been easy. In fact, at first it was paralyzing.Read More
In the past year, my business has changed a lot. The business I was running in 2016 is completely different than the business I am running in 2017. They told you to start an email list because that’s the new thing to do, right? So you started one. And now you’re confused why you aren’t seeing the conversions you want to see. You thought that “the list” was the most important thing for your business right now, but it just seems like a huge waste of time AND you aren’t seeing results. I hear ya, girlfriend.Read More
